Sesalos Media Production were proud to have the likes of Loyiso,
L Vovo, PRO, Ms Dawn and the Connection Gospel Choir in studio recently
for the recording of a collaborative track which addresses South
Africa’s social issues.
Key Change Music is the driving force
behind this project known as Collaboration 4 Change (C4C). The founders
of Key Change Music, Nic Mackay and Dawn Mlotshwa, set out with the
vision of creating positive social change through music. Nic was the
co-founder of The Oaktree Foundation in Australia and Dawn was the
Director of The Oaktree KZN. Check out more about these two Key
Changers and their vision on
www.keychangemusic.co.zaThe
C4C project aims to bring some of South Africa’s well known artists
together to write and record a collaborative song with a message about
the social issues our country faces: HIV/AIDS, women’s rights and
political engagement.
SAMA award winner, Crighton Goodwill, will
produce the song which will feature the artists Loyiso, PRO, L’Vovo,
Bongi Dube (daughter of Lucky Dube) and emerging artists Ms Dawn and
the Connection Gospel Choir.
Loyiso has had his ear on the music
industry from a young age. At 19, he became the youngest conductor of
the National Youth Choir in 2000. Loyiso’s first album brought him
great success: he was the recipient of the MTN Metro FM Music Award for
Best R&B Artist and the winner of the South African Music Award for
Best Newcomer and Best R&B Album. Read more on Loyiso by clicking

industry. His unique sound is branded as DKM (Durban Kwaito Music)
which is associated with the dancing style he calls Derango. To find

The
C4C song will be followed by a three week tour around KZN over
August/September. The artists involved will perform in schools and
concerts in and around Pietermaritzburg, Richards Bay and Durban
raising awareness about social justice and empowering them to create
positive changes in their own lives as well as in the lives of others.
Recording
began on Friday 16th May at the Sesalos Studios in Westville North.
Loyiso, PRO, L’Vovo, Ms Dawn and the Connection Gospel Choir came
together to record vocals for the track in what can only be described
as a success! The artists involved arrived focused on the task at hand,
each with the purpose of this song at the forefront of their minds.
This inspirational song will be released on 16 June 2008.
